DI eXtreme ®

Bigger and Better Than EVER!

If you are a college or high school student, we have some eXtreme Challenges for you!!

Push yourself to the edge of your creative powers and find out what you can really do under pressure! This year we offer THREE different eXtreme Challenges, each requiring different amounts of prep and time.

DI eXtreme Challenges for d2k.7

SUPERMAX Challenge

Wednesday evening May 23 through Thursday, May 24

Show up the night before to get the Challenge, work all night and present your solution the next day.

eX-TENDO Challenge

Friday, May 25

Like a DI eXtreme TRIATHLON, this Challenge features 3 separate contests:

  1. Head-to-Head Technical Supremacy! Receive this part of the Challenge SIX WEEKS before Global Finals. This gives you time to create a technical something-or-other that will be tested head-to-head against other teams.

  2. Academy-Award-Worthy Performance! Show off your team's vocal, theatrical, and design skills. You will receive this part of your Challenge about 3 hours before your performance.

  3. eXtreme Instant Challenge! Oh man, this Instant Challenge will truly test your ability to think on your feet… but that's all we're going to tell you now!

Your team can't take first place in the eX-tendo Challenge unless you do well in all three contests!

Please note: This Challenge is NOT open to teams or individuals registered for the DI "Flagship" Tournament.

MAX Challenge

Saturday, May 26

Show up in the morning with required supplies, get the Challenge, come back 3 hours later and present your solution.

Sign up early; spaces are limited for all three days of competition.

Who can do eXtreme?
- All College Students
- All High School Students (participants must have completed or be finishing 9th grade at the time of Global Finals - NO exceptions). Teams which include high school students under age 18 must also have an adult supervisor who is NOT a part of their team - NO exceptions.

What Challenges can I register for?
Teams may register for one, two, or all three Challenges, with one exception: If you are registered to compete in the DI Flagship Tournament, you may NOT sign up for the MaX Challenge on Friday.

Do I have to be on a team to register?
You must register as a team, but if you do not have a team, we can help you link up with other individuals and form teams. Our University Level coordinator will serve as the clearinghouse to connect individuals. Contact Chris Groberg at university@dihq.org.

When and how do I register for DI eXtreme?

Each team must register for each of the eXtreme Challenges in which they plan to participate on www.ShopDI.org by April 16, 2007. Click the Registration link below.
